Victor Flett grew up from his Cree descent from the Peguis First Nation in Manitoba. Of Aboriginal heritage, he was buoyed by a strong family pride in military service. He is a widower and is the last in a family line of six Aboriginal men over three generations to serve in the Canadian Forces.
