MALONEY, Mac Rae - 82 years, passed away peacefully at his home in Amherstburg surrounded by his family on January 7, 2008. Loving husband for 57 years to Dorothy (nee Langlois). Loving father to Susan & partner Karen of Sydney Australia, Patti & Tom Paisley of Lenoir, N. Carolina, Dan & Mary Maloney of Orillia, Ont., Kathy & Doug Laramie of Amherstburg, Ted & Trudy Maloney of Amherstburg, and predeceased by infant son Michael (1959). Beloved Papa to Heath Paisley, Aimee Gray, Denise & Brian Laramie, Meaghan Shane, Sarah, Kimberly & Charlie Maloney, Kristie, Kelly & Michael Maloney. Dear Great Grandpa to Gavin & Chance Paisley and Camden Gray. Son of the late Doris & Jack Maloney and stepson of the late Alfred Stainton. Dear brother of the late Jack Maloney (1979), Margaret Hamilton (2007) and survived by brother David Maloney. Step brother to Gertrude Maloney and Harold Stainton. Mac was a member of the local Lion's Club, the Canadian Legion Br. 157, K. of C. Council #2110, the Goodfellows and the Royal Canadian Naval Vets, as he had served in the Canadian Navy in WWII. Mac had also retired from General Chemical in Amherstburg. Mac had many hobbies but his favourite was wood working which he had done for many years. At Mac's request cremation will take place. A memorial visitation will take place at the James H. Sutton Funeral Home, 401 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg 519-736-2134 on Wednesday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Legion Br. 157 service at 7:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Memorial service Thursday January 10, 2008 leaving the funeral home at 10 a.m. going to St. John the Baptist Church for Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. John the Baptist Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Mac in the Sutton Heritage Forest. A dedication service will be held Sunday, September 28, 2008. All are welcome.
