In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
DEMONE, David Robert - 71 of Halifax passed away on September 2, 2024 at the QEII hospital. He was the son of the late Murray and Kathleen (Levy) DeMone.
Dave spent 12 years in the Navy as a Payroll Clerk, followed by hospital porter, various caretaking positions and furniture building. Dave was an avid sports fan with golf being his passion when he started as a teenager as a caddie at Brightwood. He could rattle off names and statistics of golf, baseball and football. I was also impressed with his gift for solving Sudoku and often completing daily word puzzles and The New York Times. He professed to be a champion at crib where he often played at a local bar in Dartmouth. I will miss his phone call rants.
Dave is survived by his sister, Barbara Adams and his daughters Amanda (Levi) Legge and Katie (Matthew) Siteman, 19 grandchildren Cordell, Zachery, Liam, Colin, Emmeline, Carmine, Isacc, Abigail, Noah, Josh, Daniel, Jeremy, Luke, Jacob, Elijah, Lila, Naoi, Rebekah, Kaleb and one great grandson, Jonah. Also two nieces, Angela and Sherry and great nephew, Justin.
I would like to give thanks to the nurses and Drs for their compassion and care. A very special thanks to his community family (both past and present) at Aleregos Café and staff at The Rebuilding for making his week memorable with their stories and laughs. Thanks Emma for your friendship and the special individual you are.
Cremation has taken place and no funeral by request. Burial at sea and family gathering at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9. (Serenity Funeral Home)
