Died: 23 Feb 2012, Guelph, Ontario

 

McDonald, Carl Stewart - of Guelph, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, February 23, 2012. Beloved husband and best friend of 51 years to Isabelle. Carl will be fondly remembered by his niece Patricia (Steve) and family, who he was like a father to. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Shirley Harris. Predeceased by son Stewart, sister Wilda, brothers Russ and Joe (Barb) and parents Stewart McDonald and Martha McDonald (nee Woyce). Carl was retired from MacKinnon Transport. He served overseas during World War II in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 229 Elora. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home  Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Monday (7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. (Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre). Interment Memory Gardens, Breslau. Memorial contributions to the Arthritis Society, P.O. Box 25055, 370 Stone Rd. W., Guelph, ON, or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 14 Irvin Street, Suite 1, Kitchener, ON, would be appreciated. * Note: Carl married Bernice Lillian Berringer on 12 Aug 1944, Halifax, Nova Scotia.  On his marriage registration his surname is listed a MacDonald.
