In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HOGAN, Thomas Arthur - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Arthur Hogan at the age of 75 at the Dartmouth General I.C.U. on March 20, 2024.
He was the son of the late Thomas Richard Hogan (Montreal, Quebec) and Mary Shirley Israel (Dartmouth).
He was born in Dorval, Quebec and moved to Nova Scotia at the tender age of 3 where he stayed for the remainder of his life. Tom joined the Canadian forces Navy in 1966 and enjoyed his life in the Military until he retired in 1990 as a Petty Officer 1st Class (Signalman) and held a great compassion for the Navy long after his retirement.
In 1991 he joined the Commissionaires of Nova Scotia and received his 32 year pin of Service in 2023. He loved his work with CNS right up until his passing.
Tom's great love was watching Coronation Street. He had a big heart for wolves, our cat Smokey, wildlife and Summer road trips to Cape Breton.
He enjoyed his oldies music from 1960-1970 such as the Beatles, The Mamas and The Papas and the Hollies (he ain't heavy, he's my brother). He also enjoyed eating at the All-You-Can-Eat buffet at Casino Nova Scotia.
Tom will be greatly missed by his Spouse of 29 years, Maurice Mury. He is survived by his Godson, Michael Lambert (Edmonton, AB), half-sisters, Kim Israel and Robyn Fleet along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his half-sister, Patricia Lapointe (Dartmouth), Father and Mother in Law, Patrick Joseph Mury and Mary Barbe Mury, West Arichat, Richmond Country, Nova Scotia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hope for Wildlife, Seaforth, Nova Scotia.
A memorial service will be held at 10am on Friday 19th July, 2024 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth with interment immediately following the service. (Atlantic Funeral Homes - Dartmouth Chapel)
