WALTON, John Herbert - a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance "Chatham Campus". He was born in St. Lambert, Quebec and was a son of the late Herbert and Bertha (Sudgen) Walton. John was a wireless radio operator with the Royal Canadian Navy Serving during WWII. John owned and operated Walton Radio shop in Wallaceburg for over 40 years. John enjoyed being an Amateur Radio Operator in his spare time. Beloved husband of Margaret (Ingham) Walton. Loving father and father-in-law of: Mary-Ann & Joe Skouras, David & Julie Belanger and Keith & Francoise Belanger. Sadly missed by his grandchildren: Matthew, Melissa (David), David J., Colleen (Bob), David (Kristy), Scott (Stephaine), Molly (Scott) and his great grandchildren: Brayden, Curtis, Andrew, Madelyn, Sky, Kyree, Robert and Levi. Predeceased by a grandson, Hunter and a sister, Elaine Belanger. Mr. John Walton rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin St. Wallaceburg until Wednesday, January 27, 2010 when a private family service was held in the chapel of the funeral home. Mrs. Cheryl Kirk, officiated. Cremation followed. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Charity of Your Choice may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in the Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of John Walton. (The Wallaceburg Courier Press 04 Feb 2010)
