WILLIAMS, Laura Marie (née DEARMAN) - Age 102, of Windsor, Hants Co., died Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on November 12, 1921 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Dexter and Clara (Pinkney) Dearman.

 

Laura attended Windsor Academy. She was in the “WRCN”, Women’s Royal Canadian Navy, Second World War. She worked at the Town of Windsor office for 22 years and was a part owner and office manager of C. A. Williams and Sons Ltd. She also did part-time bookkeeping at her brother’s jewellery store.

 

Laura is survived by step-sons, G. Wayne and Robert “Bobby” (Betty) Williams; 12 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Reid (Ethel) Dearman.

 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Chester A. “Ches”; step-son, Ronald (Thelma); step-daughters, Joyce (Doug) Spencer and Gloria (Basil) Maynard; step-daughter-in-law, Marg Williams; sisters, Lillian, Edith, Amelia, Claribel and Frances; brother, Owen Dearman.

 

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private committal will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Ellershouse, where she will be laid to rest alongside Ches. Donations in memory of Laura may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
