Died: 03 Apr 1988, Victoria, British Columbia

 

SMITH, John Benjamin (Jack) - In Victoria, BC, on April 3, 1988, John (Jack) Benjamin Smith (Anchor) born in London, England on April 9, 1904 and came to Canada at the age of four years. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; three sons and their wives, Jack and betty, Ben and Joan, Larry and Sandy; three step-daughters, Mrs. Rose Marie Rossborough, Mrs. (Frank) Betty Brown, Mrs. (Irwin) Peggy Medwick; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. John was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 172 Esquimalt Dockyard Branch. He was also a life member of the Chief and Petty Officer Association. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 8, at 1:00 p.m. in McCall Bros Floral Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver Streets with Father B. Hanley officiating. Cremation to follow at Royal Oak Crematorium. Flowers are gratefully declined and those so wishing may make a donation to the Poppy Fund c/o the Esquimalt Legion, 622 Admirals Road, Victoria, B.C.
