GOODMAN, Orma (née BOYD) - passed away peacefully on Friday October 4, 2024 at Eden Gardens in Nanaimo at the age of 99. She was predeceased by her loving husband Art in 1978, her daughter Georgette Peterson and son-in-law Larry, and also 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Orma is survived by family including nieces and nephews and her friends. Orma was born in Bethany, Manitoba, and when the second World War broke out, she moved to Victoria to join the Royal Canadian Navy, Wren Postal, and served from 1943 to 1946. Orma married Arthur Goodman on May 27, 1944 and lived in Victoria until a brief stay in Eden Gardens, Nanaimo, BC. She worked for Eatons for 25 years and was one of the most liked employees they had, receiving the Eatons Top Service Award, her bubbly personality and love for everyone was contagious. A member of the Roayal Canadian Legion, Esquimalt Branch 172 Seniors Group, Orma loved to walk, play cards and be with family and friends.
A graveside burial service will be held at 10:30 AM, on Thursday October 10, 2024 in Royal Oak Burial Park, 4673 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC. Grant Boyd officiating. (The Victoria Times Colonist 08 Oct 2024)
