DESLAURIERS, Emery Joseph Honore (Des) - was born in Timmins, Ontario March 4, 1938 to parents Omer and Yvette. Des passed away peacefully in his home on January 23, 2005 with family by his side. He will be missed many friends, his wife of 24 years, Claire, her daughters, his sons and several grandchildren. Des retired from the Navy in 1981 after 26 years of service then worked 20 years as a Correctional Officer at William Head. He was a member of the Colwood PPC and Royal Canadian Legion. A Celebration of Des' life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 29 at the Esquimalt Legion (upstairs). In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in his memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. (Victoria Times Colonist 27 Jan 2005)
