Died: 02 Oct 1984, Nanaimo, British Columbia

 

EAGLE, Fredrick William (Fred) - Suddenly at Nanaimo Regional Hospital on October 2, 1984, age 70, of Victoria. He leaves his wife, Norma at home, two sons, Fred of Prince George, Tom of Victoria, their wives and families; brother, Robert, sisters, Mrs. Violet Doswell of Parksville and Mrs. Wyn McLellan and Mrs. Rose Ellison of Victoria. Services held at St. Edmund's Church, Parksville on October 9.

 


 

Citation for award of the British Empire Medal:

 

EAGLE, Frederick William, Chief Engine Room Artificer, 21549, British Empire Medal (BEM), RCN - Awarded as per Canada Gazette of 9 January 1943 and London Gazette of 1 January 1943.

 

"While on escort duty, Chief Engine Room Artificer Eagle, displayed outstanding skill and ability as a machinist in effecting essential repairs under most difficult conditions."
