PICLHER, Thomas James - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas James Pilcher (Tom), age 66, of Victoria, BC. He passed away peacefully on the 16th of September 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Tom was born on December 14th, 1957 to Arthur and Norma Pilcher in Toronto Ontario. In 1977 Tom joined the Royal Canadian Navy. Tom was posted to the West Coast where he sailed on numerous HMCS ships including, Kootenay, Terra Nova and Regina. He proudly served his country for 27 years as a Naval Combat Information Operator and retired at the rank of Petty Officer First Class. Upon his retirement from the Navy he worked for the Provincial Government in the Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship. Tom was active for 39 years in the Society For Creative Anachronism. He loved studying and recreating history. He excelled in archery and teaching others about history. He is survived by his son Andrew Pilcher, granddaughter Shaylee Katan and older brother Paul Pilcher. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC. A celebration of life will be held on November 9, 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 172, located at 622 Admirals Road, Victoria, BC from 7 to 11 pm.
