WRIGHT, James Edward - In loving memory of James Edward Wright. Born on November 9, 1926 in Ceylon Saskatchewan, passed away on January 28, 2005 at his home surrounded by his family, on Parker Road in Victoria BC. Jim's mother Beatrice Wright (Cooper) passed away in 1956 and his father Joseph Wright in 1988. Jim is survived and dearly missed by his wife of nearly 57 years, Nora Jean (nee Nash) and their 6 children: Susan Christison (Bruce), Barbara Wright (Gord Browne), Joanne McDonald (Allan), Meg Harris (Jim), Leslie Wootton, and Steve Wright. Also survived by his sister-in-law Pat Nash. Jim was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren; David and Arin Wright, Peter and Paul Wootton, Chris Gray and Brad Becker, Averyl and Mike McDonald, Christine Benson and Teresa Christison, and two great grandchildren; Jeremie Blanchard and Bowen Benson. Captain James E. Wright served 30 years in the Canadian Navy with postings to HMCS Uganda, Antigonish, Cayuga, Ontario, Sussexvale and Catineau. Jim earned the Korea Metal, United Nations Emergency Force Metal, Canadian Forces Decoration and Clasp. He followed his retirement with 5 addition years in the reserves including peacekeeping in Egypt in 1975 and 1976. Jim and Nora spent over 20 years boating in the Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound followed by 18 years of basking in the sun in Cabo San Lucas. Many friends in Victoria and Cabo San Lucas will fore-ever miss him. Jim was the loving owner of Cha Cha, a small terrier cross, adopted in Mexico. We would like to thank Dr Houghton, Erin Stockley, home care nurse, Saanich Peninsula Home Care and the Victoria Hospice Society. A special thank you to friend and neighbor Connie McKenzie, RN retired, for her caring advice and assistance. An open house, for all who knew Jim, will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 between 2:00 and 4:00 pm at his home 5367 Parker Ave, to share and celebrate his life. May you rest in peace and be watched over by those before you. We love you Dad.
