TAYLOR, F.M. (Murray) - Oldest son of Harold and Phyllis Taylor (Wainwright) Murray was born August 6, 1923 and raised in Borden, SK. Wherever he lived, he considered SK home. His long and interesting life came to a peaceful end on August 26, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Winona, his brother Maurice (Georgie), brothers-in-law Garry Stone (Myrna), David Stone (Beverly), Bill Henderson (Rita), Cliff Salahub, sister-in-law Colleen Goossen and numerous nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his son Guy. Murray served in the RCAF from 1941-1945, seeing service in Canada, England and North Africa. In 1951 he resumed his service to Canada joining the Navy retiring in 1973 as Chief Petty Officer. In retirement, Murray and his wife Winona operated the Borden Bridge Campground, and he worked as a Commissionaire in Saskatoon. He will be remembered for his long service to Canada and his community. He was a natural leader, active in the Royal Canadian Legion, the local Village Council and Borden Lions, of which he was a founding member in 1981. He dedicated himself to community service through the Lions Club and was SCN District Governor in 1992-93 and accepted as a member of the Lions Hall of Fame in 2010. Murray was an avid reader with a keen mind right to the end. He was an excellent gardener and an exceptional cook who could often be found in the kitchen at the Stone Family Reunions. He was also instrumental in creating Borden Lions catering services and enjoyed singing as a member of Borden Lions Choir. We will miss his stories, laughter and easy going nature - he didn't sweat the small stuff! Murray was a loving husband and a loyal friend who valued family and his friendships.
