BILLOW FY 25 was the former Japanese trawler Kurashio. Owned by Chosuka Nakamura, she was seized by the Canadian government and assigned to the Fishermen's Reserve in Jan 1942. After the fishermen's Reserve was disbanded, BILLOW became a patrol boat and in the summer of 1944 was converted for use as a water boat at Prince Rupert. After becoming a CNAV in 1945, she continued as a water boat and later used as a range vessel at Patricia Bay and Nanoose Bay. Declared surplus in 1960 she was removed from service and sold.
