Built by the Saint John Dry Dock Co., she was commissioned on 19 Mar 1954. Paid off on 31 Mar 1954, she was transferred to the French Navy on the same day and commissioned as the "dragueur" La Dunerquoise M726. On 01 Jun 1973 she was re-classed as a "patrouilleur" with pendant number P653. She was paid off on 15 Oct 1986 and sunk as a target ship on 20 Dec 1986 in 2500 meters of water 22 miles off the coast of Dumbéa, New Caledonia.
