HMCS SASKATOON 709
Kingston Class Maritime Coastal Defence Vessel
Built by Halifax Shipyards Ltd., Halifax, N.S., she was launched on 30 Mar 1998. Assigned to the west coast, she departed Halifax, arriving at Esquimalt on 19 Oct 1998. She was commissioned at Esquimalt, B.C., on 05 Dec 1998.
On 19 Mar 2016, while deployed on OPERATION CARIBBE, HMCS SASKATOON, in conjunction with the US Coast Guard, intercepted dug-smuggling fishing vessels and seized 10 bales of cocaine weighing approximately 360 kilograms.
