Bay Class Minesweeper
Built by Canadian Vickers Ltd., Montreal, she was commissioned on 15 Dec 1953. Paid off on 31 Mar 1954, she was, on the same day, transferred to the French navy. She was commissioned as the "dragueur" La Paimpolaise and later, on 01 Jun 1973, she was re-classed as a "patrouillier" with pendant number P657. Paid off in Aug 1987. On 10 Nov 1987, she was used as as a live fire target - first fired upon with 100 mm gun fire from the French Naval vessels Balny, EV Henry and La Raileuse, and then sunk by scuttling charges.
Specifications on completion: Displacement: 396 tons, Length: 152 ft, Beam: 28 Ft, Draught: 8 ft, Speed: 16 kts, Complement: 3 officers, 35 men, Armament: 1-40mm.
