Fate: suspended from the Transport Canada Registry on 20 Dec 2004. Final disposition unknown

 

Built by Minett-Shields Ltd., Bracebridge, Ont., she was delivered to the RCN on 09 Nov 1942. While she flew the White Ensign, she was not commissioned into the RCN but instead was listed as a tender to HMCS Sambro, the depot ship for escorts (tenders were not commissioned vessels).

 

In Apr 1945, Q096 was listed as part of the 76th ML Flotilla. Removed from serviced on 30 Jun 1945, she was later sold for civilian use. 

 

History of Q096's record of sales and use after the war:  Jun 1945, sold $2,000 by WAC to MIL (Marine Industries Ltd., Sorel, Quebec)  //  Oct 1946, sold $6,000 by MIL to Joseph Séverin Langlois ( Quebec River Pilot), (Savoy Shipping Limited, Quebec)  //  1947, converted into sightseeing boat at St-Laurent Shipyard, Island of Orleans and renamed Roseline (# 177959). Owner: Quebec Waterways Sightseeing Tours. Co., Quebec, c/o J.S.
