The Mumbles Volunteer Lifeboat Service
Mumbles is a small collection of hamlets on the beautiful Gower Peninsular situated 5 miles from the then town but now city of Swansea . Through it's history, fishing had been the dominating industry but with the war and other factors, employment offers in Swansea had become more attractive. Despite these diversions, voluntary places on the Mumbles Lifeboat were usually eagerly sought.
