McEwen, Jim
Samuels, Dick- from Cape
Breton
Brown, Bob
Rupert, Don
Ogilvy, Jim
Edwards, Bob |
I
served aboard HMCS ASSINIBOINE with HelAirDet HS-50 Squadron beginning
in 1967, and as required through 1969, as well as HMCS BONAVENTURE
detachments. I was an Aviation Technician with the rank of Leading
Seaman, starting at VX-10 Squadron as an Ordinary Seaman working on
both the CS2F-2 Grumman Tracker, and the Sikorsky CHSS-2 Sea King
Helicopter. I would really like to hear from any of the guys from the
Squadron. This anecdote may help jar somebody’s memory as to my
identity.
"In
basic training at CFB Cornwallis, my division had five guys whose
first name was Brian , so it was decided that we would all use our
middle name. My middle name is Charles, shortened becomes “Chuck”.
With my last name being Bunn, it’s not hard to see that Chuck Bunn
can morph into “Shotgun”, so that is my service nickname among my
old wingers."
I
would love to hear from Jim McEwen, Dick Samuels, (from Cape Breton),
Bob Brown , Don Rupert, Jim Ogilvy, and Bob Edwards. |
