NANISIVIK NAVAL FACILITY
The facility is connected to the town of Arctic Bay by a 40KM road and its airport. Personnel and supplies can be flown in to better support our Arctic Patrol Ships, Kingston Class, Halifax Class, Victoria Class and future fleet including the CSC. The facility boasts two 3.75-million-litre fuel tanks that will be fueled at the start of the ice free season. To put it in perspective - the Halifax-class frigates have a fuel capacity 665,000 litres of fuel. With 7.5 million litres available at the Nanisivik facility it is possible to fuel all 12 Halifax-class frigates to just over 90% capacity each. More importantly the facility has the potential to be expanded.
