MILES, George William Victor, LS, V5504, RCNVR, MPK - 23 Mar 1944, HMCS QU'APPELLE - Son of Victor G. and of Nora Miles, Verdun, QC; husband of Mary Irene Miles, Sydney, NS.
Leading Seaman G. W. V. Miles was reported missing in action overseas according to the RCN, he was lost overboard at sea from the ship HMCS QU'APPELLE in which he was serving on, no body was recovered. He was standing in the company of another rating at the left hand corner of the superstructure on the quarter deck, when the ship took a heavy roll to port, and a large sea washed him overboard.
