SHORT, Gilbert Edward - of Delhi. Ontario. Formerly of Brantford. Passed away at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, on Saturday, May 3, 1997, in his 85th year. Mr. Short was the High Chief Ranger of the Canadian Foresters (Fraternal). He was a veteran and served 25 years in the Royal Canadian
Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Office in 1954. Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 90, Brantford. Beloved husband of late Mildred MacNeil (1995), late Beatrice Rudge and late Marie Rudge. Dear father of Frank Short (and wife Jet), Ottawa; Gloria Hawley (and husband John), Ottawa; Debbie Harding (and husband Mark), Delhi; late Gerald Short and late Rosemarie "Bobby" Mitchell. Loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

 Dear brother of Violet Hunter of Ajax and Edith Sponagle of Toronto. Also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 5 brothers. William. Sam, Harry, Sid and Fred Short. Resting at Murphy Funeral Home, Delhi, for funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday at 1:30 with Rev. Fred Jackson officiating. Interment Delhi Cemetery Donations to any charity will be gratefully acknowledged. (The Ottawa Citizen, Tue., 06 May 1997)
