BOND, Neil Archie, AB, V78911, RCNVR, MPK - 14 Feb 1945, MTB-461 - Son of Ernest Maxwell Bond and Eliza Bond, of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia.

 

AB Neil Bond was killed in an accidental explosion on a motor torpedo boat in Belgium, his body was not recovered.

 

Able Seaman Neil Archie Bond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bond, met his death while serving as radio operator with a torpedo crew. During his career at Glace Bay High, Neil took a keen interest in sports and participated in a number of school events. Popular with all his associates, his death at the early age of twenty is keenly regretted.

HMCS MONTCALM - Served in MONTCALM 03 Dec 1943 - 15 Feb 1944

HMCS ST FRANCIS - Served in ST FRANCIS 02 Apr 1944 - 08 Apr 1944 while in training at HMCS CORNWALLIS as an OS, RCNVR
