Born: 27 Nov 1916, Esquimalt, British Columbia

 

Died: 21 Oct 1997, Victoria, British Columbia

 

Served in the RCN 06 Jun 1938 - 16 Jun 1962

 

HICKS, Arthur James - passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital on October 21, 1997. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Alfreda; two sisters, E. Moser, in Nanaimo and D. Antrobus, in Victoria and their families; step-sister, D. Conway and three very close friends, S. Foreman, r. Walls and r. Winter. Pop was born and raised in Esquimalt and served in the RCN from 1938 to 1962 including Atlantic, Mediterranean and Korea campaigns. He is a member of the Chiefs and PO's Association and Canadian Legion, Branch No. 172. Private cremation. Donations, if desired, may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society, the Chiefs and POs Association or to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors at Victoria General Hospital, especially Dr. Laing. (The Victoria Times Colonist)
