MOGENSEN, Frank - Born July 10, 1920. Frank served in HMCS Ottawa H60 (and other ships) during World War II. He joined the RCN before the start of WWII on July 31, 1939 and was honourably discharged on August 3, 1946. Frank passed away in 1982 at age 63, leaving behind his wife Dorothy, a son, Arvil Mogensen, and daughter Mona Fay Anderson. After the war, he worked for Imperial Oil in Kamloops, BC until 1953 and subsequently moved back to Claresholm, Alberta and was a co-owner of an automobile service company. The family then returned to Kamloops BC in 1956 and shortly thereafter he went to work for Inland Natural Gas Co. - a pipeline and natural gas distribution company serving the interior communities of BC. The family lived in Williams Lake, Merritt, Vernon, Nelson, thereafter Penticton where he eventually retired before his death. Frank was active in the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps. In Vernon, B.C. and was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (CIC) in January 1962.
