Died: 18 Jan 2009

 

DREW, Sydney George - Passed away peacefully January 18, 2009, at the age of 93. Pre-deceased by his wife Mary Ann (1993) and his second wife Emily (1995), his parents, Emma (Rix) (1963) and Sidney (1970), and his daughters Elsie (1996) and Geraldine (2002). Loving father of Sidney and Maureen, George and the late June (2008), Helen and Joe Todd, Theresa Burgos and Marcello, Roy and Hetty, Ronnie and Shelley, and Dennis and Cathy. 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Survived by his step-daughter Diane and Fred Pratt. Dear brother of William Drew and pre-deceased by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Many nieces and nephews also survive as well as his aunt Elsie Kyle. Dear friend of Marion Reid. Sydney was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy serving overseas in WWII. He was a charter member of the R.C.L. Branch # 578 and 594. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company and a long time Little League Baseball Manager. Visitation will be held at the Victoria Greenlawn Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre, 1525 Highway#3, from 7-9 pm Monday, and 2-5 and 7-9 pm Tuesday. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Donald Hull officiating. Interment Victoria Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the CNIB or the charity of your choice. A Windsor Veterans Memorial Services Committee service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 pm. (Legacy Remembers 19 Jan 2009)
