SCATERIE was a seized rum running boat known as One Seventy Four that was used to transfer contraband from the schooner I'm Alone to American shores. It was the Baroff that seized her in 1928 at Chaleur and then she was sent to Cheticamp, Nova Scotia as a Preventive Service vessel. In 1932 she was transferred to the RCMP and served until 1939 when she was transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy as HMCS SCATERIE pendant number Z22. In the June 1940 Navy List she was listed as a Harbour Craft.  She was declared surplus and turned over to CADC on 03 Jan 1946. (Ship's history from the research of Bryon Taylor)
