Sports and the RCN
Sports have been in integral part of the RCN since its inception in 1910. Whether it is Soccer, Football, Baseball, Shooting Competitions, and more - they were all part of inter-base / inter-ship rivalry as they strived for the coveted Cock-of-the-Walk.
Sailors came from all sorts of backgrounds and many had experience in junior and major league sports - skills they brought with them to the Navy.
This page is to record some of those sporting events and the sailors that took part in them.
